Old one..but really terrible experience :)
On Sunday(oct 11 2009) had a terrible experience while riding back from
Nagarjunasagar to Hyderabad. We were a gang of 6 people in 3 bikes, all were riding together and around 8:30pm we stopped @ a dhaba to have dinner.
After dinner we rode some 5 kms and all of sudden something stood up from my bike's dashboard as it was very dark I could not recognize what it was and also road was bit narrow so I was more concentrated on the road. First I thought it is a cleaning cloth which I had in the dashboard, so ignored for a while and continued my ride.. this was still standing in front of me and finally I saw It's forked tongue and released it's a Snake. I was shocked to see the snake in front of me, it was around 10pm and i was riding @ 65kmph..for a second i was out of my mind, then I taught to jump from my bike but I didn't do that as my friend Maruthi was in pillion seat. I reduced my speed thinking to stop, but another strange thing happened snake tried to get down from the moving bike and it came towards my left hand, I took out my hand from handle bar then afterwards slowly I stopped by applying both brakes and the bike switched off since I was not holding the clutch. After stopping we left the bike...With the help of other 2 bikes light tried to search the bike by removing under seat covers and other areas but could figure where the snake was hiding...So again started the bike with center stand on and raised the accelerator to full then the Snake peaked out from the dash board, My camera was ready to click few pics... So tried this technique few times to send the snake out.. it took nearly 30-40 mins to send it out....all happy ending...
Lesson learnt: Inspect a Bike Before a Ride ..
I think it's King Cobra..it was very cool and calm.. didn't try to bite :)
